
Chefs Torre Bagalman and David Solazzo have again been nominated as semifinalists for the award of Best Chef (South) in the James Beard awards.
Following on from their semifinalist nomination last year, Torre and David will be hoping to make the cut when the finalists are announced at the Palace Café in New Orleans on March the 22nd.
Ristorante Del Porto has again been chosen by the Times Picayune's food critic Brett Anderson as one of New Orleans' Top 10 restaurants, with Anderson writing that the food at Del Porto is "better than ever".
The Times Picayune's annual list of the top 10 restaurants in the city recognizes "restaurants that are performing at the highest possible level at this very moment", and Del Porto is pleased to make the list for the third year in a row.
The recently published Zagat New orleans guide for 2009 lists Del Porto as one of the top rated restaurants in the city for food, with a rating of 26/30.
Del Porto is also listed in joint first place as the top Italian restaurant in New Orleans, as well as making the Top Service Ratings list.
